Gail Perry, CPA

Gail is the editor-in-chief of CPA Practice Advisor and the facilitator of two notable think tank groups within the accounting profession: The CPA Practice Advisor Thought Leader Symposium, and the Young Leaders Accounting Think Tank. She is a well-known speaker at national accounting conferences and the author of more than 30 books on tax, personal finance, accounting, and accounting software (including Mint.com for Dummies and The Idiot’s Guide to Accounting). Gail has been recognized as one of the Most Powerful Women in Accounting, and she is a members of the AICPA’s Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee. She maintains a small tax practice in Indianapolis and is a graduate of Indiana University. Prior to focusing on financial writing and journalism, Gail was a state and local tax accountant for Deloitte and George Olive & Co. (now BKD), and she was a computer applications instructor at the Indiana CPA Society. And she used to own and operate a movie theatre.
